Being in Naples, Florida for the winter is pretty nice. I took myself to the beach at 16th Street South and enjoyed a day in the sun reading and sketching when about 1000 seagulls flew in and landed on the beach. Photographing birds in flight is a crap shoot and everyone was running around taking pictures. At one point when the birds took flight I just held up the camera and shot it. Now I'm using it for my desktop background. Check out Vulture Cafe for some really great bird photos by Dawn.
I had to publish a blog to comment on my friend's blog. I'm a kick ass cleaning lady but I'm really an avid oil painter & lifelong photographer. I hope to inspire all who visit my blog to higher visions of themselves and their abilities. Life is short, Art is long.

Everglades Adventures
Here in Naples we are right on the Everglades. I shot these amazing photos down there a week or so back at Turner River which has an observation boardwalk. The longer you look into the woods the more able you are to notice the hidden wildlife.

Mary.J.Blige.(feat.U2).ONE
I think Mary J adds the right touch to U2's song One. Beautiful duet. Enjoy.

Yellow Tea Mug
I found this cool yellow mug in the GoodWill store, of course. There is no tea in the cup, just the spoon and the bag. I worked with only natural light here which lent the dark area lots of color. Sorry about the glare. I'll post the finish on Just Painting.

What Are The Odds?
Another Praying Mantis? What are the odds of seeing three Praying Mantises in three weeks? The first in the new studio, the second at Codman and today
I was in the dunes of Truro, painting with the Three Amigas, Kelley, Roz and Paula, when yet another Praying Mantis landed on my umbrella.
Is this a sign?
I'll post the painting on Just Painting
when I finish it. Meanwhile here are the Three Amigas.

Codman is Mad
This sign is posted in the hall somewhere in the Codman building. I think I can guess who put it up.

Abandoned Blog
Abandoned blog Abandoned blog! I've been avoiding posting because the demolition of our building is underway for about 6 weeks now and it's been pretty depressing.
I'm putting up some before and after shots here. The good news is that my new space at the Sandpaper Factory has 7 windows and is the same vintage as the Codman thus it has similar ambience. Also, there are skylights on the roof of the SP Factory.
