The Codman Building

This is the building that houses my studio along with a bunch of other soon (depending on zoning, loaning, and approvals) to be displaced, artists. It's being zoned for condos. We've had a long run in this building, something like 14 or 15 Open Studios. I always felt a connection to this building and I'll miss it it when it's gone. The end of an era, for sure. Check out my fellow artists at Plain Street Studios. These photos were taken right after Open Studios when everything is cleaned up and the flowers are still fresh.

Boo Hoo - me, too! I will miss this place. Your studio looks like a little apartment. Mine looks like there was a rave and everyone's gone....

"Zoned for condos" is always code for "kiss of death." It looks like such a wonderful place to work!

Noelle, it is indeed "the ultimate Kiss of Death'.
Very sad.

Kells, I am still in denial actually. I've been in this building since 1993. I never, ever thought about making this old wreck (said lovingly) into condos. It's been a great place.

Zoned for Condos :( No good... I'm going to hate seeing all of you guys displaced! I've studied for many a law school exam in that building in my mum's studio!

I have to figure out how to put a copyright mark across my photos before I open up my photography blog, I'm not too worried about anyone stealing my work, but I had a friend whose stuff did get stolen b/c she didn't protect it, so I'm a little cautious.

Deb, yes we are attempting to organize and present ourselves to the owners of several of the ONLY buildings of this type left in our area. Time will tell how it goes.
I just really 'felt' this today when I was over there. Leaked tears all the way home :( It's the end of something wonderful.
